Role Summary
The Functional Analyst is responsible for the ongoing assessment, design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide business applications. This specific role focuses on maintaining and supporting the Clairvia nursing scheduling tool. You will collect and transform complex information into technical requirements, partner with stakeholders to optimize project scope, and ensure that software solutions meet both user needs and industry quality standards.



Core Responsibilities
System Maintenance & Technical Support
Application Management: Maintain the Clairvia scheduling tool, including daily updates to web and client applications.
Data Integrity: Ensure daily HR imports from PeopleSoft are successful and manage SQL server updates/EITS downtimes.
Reporting & Security: Run system reports and manage user security/access permissions based on requests.
Functional Expertise: Provide configuration expertise for ORACLE scheduling and support integration with Epic and Point Click Care.
Business Analysis & Requirements
Requirement Gathering: Interview end users, stakeholders, and sponsors to document business, functional, and technical requirements.
Modeling: Construct conceptual data models, process models, flowcharts, and technical specifications.
Change Management: Document changes to baseline requirements through standard change control processes and maintain release notes/training guidelines.
Testing & Implementation
Lifecycle Involvement: Participate in all testing phases, including Unit Acceptance Testing (UAT) and issue resolution.
Risk Mitigation: Identify risks, concerns, or ambiguities in requirements and assist the team in developing solutions.
Project Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers to ensure documentation stays on schedule.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partnership: Collaborate with Nursing/Operations personnel to support business operations and resolve application issues.
Training: Provide systems training to end users and serve as a mentor to Junior Business Analysts.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in data processing and computer systems.
At least 3 years specifically focused on gathering/documenting business requirements (interviews, workflow analysis, etc.).
Technical Domain Expertise: * Required: Prior experience with Clairvia, UKG, or Ansos scheduling implementation.
Required: SQL and Advanced Excel knowledge.
Required: Previous Schedule Data Conversion experience.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
Software & Systems: * Knowledge of ORACLE Cloud scheduling.
Experience with EHR vendors (Epic, Allscripts) and hospital applications (Onbase, ERP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and Project.
Methodologies: Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), JAD (Joint Application Development), and Project Management methodologies.
Soft Skills:
Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-moving, collaborative team.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to meet tight deadlines.
Industry Knowledge: Previous Healthcare experience or knowledge of NYC Health + Hospitals is a significant plus.
