Job Description:

This position is assigned to the Solutions Management team for the Public Safety Delivery Center (PSDC), functioning as the lead developer of XSL-FO stylesheets for the Record Management System (RMS) Hardcopies. The position also involves development and support of the TraCS(Traffic and Criminal Software) - RMS interfaces, which include the XSLT transforms of TraCS export files to the RMS, a .Net application to ingest the RMS XML produced by the RMS MDT application (the RMS is a vendor Records Management System and the MDT (Mobile Data Terminal) is one of their products; PSP's specific interest related to this position is the MDT produces an xml file they ingest into TraCS (another vendor product) through a dll they maintain) and assisting with development and support of other TraCS .Net applications.
Job duties include, but not limited to: analysis, planning, design, programming, implementation, maintenance, and support. The Architect has the ability to design, develop, and implement application infrastructure to provide reliable and scalable applications and systems to meet the organization’s objectives and requirements. The Architect is familiar with a variety of the application technologies, environments, concepts, methodologies, practices, and procedures. The Architect is also able to perform a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision. The Architect is experienced in defining systems and application architecture.
Role Description:
• Proven experience with hands-on technical development work.
• Able to coordinate with technical leads, business users and project managers.
• Experience participating in development of standards and product recommendations.
• Experience designing and architecting systems as a member of a design team.
• Experience working through every phase of software development life cycle.
• Strong verbal communication.
Skills and Experience:
Required:
3 years (or more) XSLT stylesheet experience using the XSL-FO transform engine. Must have experience with XSL-FO needed for PDF transform and generation.
3 years (or more) .NET development experience preferably in both C#.NET and VB.NET.
Desired:
1 year experience with the Altova Mission kit, specifically Map Force application.
The ideal candidate for this role is a Developer (or Architect depending on your definition) that has coding experience designing XSL-FO stylesheets. Or at least primarily XSLT stylesheet design experience. As well as familiarity with .NET development. The position will be taking over duties from another developer who works independently based on the customers' requirements for the output PDFs. Ideally this individual will be able to work independently within a relatively short time span.
